    The BackDoor Enterprises concept was born in the 1960s one of the most empowering decades in the history of America. As a little boy growing up in North West Washington DC I witnessed African Americans consistently entering movie theaters, restaurants, and businesses thru the back door without shame or disgruntlement.  It all starts in the mind. They were focused on the goal regardless of how long they waited or by which door they gained access. They saw past the obstacles as a group and discovered there are varying degrees of blackness to relate to. How do I want to define myself. We could decide what type of African American best suited our beliefs and perspectives.

         Often a more revealing perspective of many places, people or things is gained when we get a peek behind the scenes as witnessed in The WIZ and WIZARD of OZ when the true identity of the Wizard is finally revealed. The BackDoor was and still is the access most valued and most coveted.  It has been written 'Free your mind and your body will follow.'

    BACKDOOR  The Industrialization of the world is dead and gone and the Information Age is in full effect.  Are you riding the new wave or stubbornly holding on to the past? You've opened the BACKDOOR, my question to you is "where are you getting YOUR information from?" You have unlimited opportunities to accomplish whatever your mind can imagine. Take this ride with us and we will not only prove it to you we will help you find and develope your creativity and create new possibilities for you and your future.

       As children we think abstractly. We inherently have no boundaries on our capabilities. Ask a 4 year old what he or she wants to be and they will tell you without consideration of whether a black man or a woman has accomplished it before or how much it will cost or what the dangers are. As adults warn them of the obstacles and create fears for those children their dreams are adjusted and so goes their creativity. Our brain naturally solves problems and seeks solutions. Undeniably public schools do not reward or encourage creativity. Quite the opposite, it encourages conformation and routine. We must reward and encourage not only our children but each other to dream and believe those dreams. Without that belief we are not only cheating ourselves of our destiny but we are also cheating the world of our gifts and creations. I can only imagine Ben Franklin's relatives thinking he was a little wacky when he'd fly his kite during thunderstorms, I can envision his sweet aunt saying "somebody please go and bring Benny back in the house before he gets killed!" Creativity, by it's definition is not normal. We ALL have it,  accept it, let it take you beyond your dreams!


     

         BackDoor creatively uses digital media to edutain the galaxy with our critically acclaimed radio program 3RD EyE OPEN which can be heard live each Friday at 1:00PM - 3:00 pm . Our target is YOU! There are 5 favorite topics proper foke don't discuss in public, race issues, religion, politics, sex and money. These Favorite 5 are the party stoppers. When they come up, attitudes and judgements abound and the conversation usually becomes heated, so we don't bring them up and if someone else does we don't take the bait and someone changes the subject. In my opinion these are the very topics that shape our lives so we have a need to discuss them with others  if just as a sounding board. BackDoor has taken on the mission of bringing those issues to the front in a way that is effective and somewhat painless.We have gathered the most creative and ingenius artists the world has ever known and given them the platform to do what they do as they engage our audiences into examing the Favorite 5ive. One of the biggest political isues has been President Obama's citizenship and faith. That is political, religious and racial. Sex is every where and the biggest elephant in the room is the economy, mortgages, jobs and fraud. That would be the money topic.  A great man said it best,

    No one said it couldn't be fun. We won't hurt, We will open your 3RD EYE and you will see what you have been missing.
